The woman who played Mary Woodson in Lonesome Bride had a supporting role in a Columbo I just saw. She was older but I said I know that woman and it was Joan Shawlee. Love when you recognize someone much later from Rifleman. She was so good in Lonesome Bride. She was very pretty in her publicity shot.

Joan Shawley was also Fiona"Pickles"Sirell on the Dick  Van Dyke Show- gals named Fiona are always called Pickles.  I would loved to have seen a crossover scene where Lucas tries to talk Buddy and Pickles out of getting a divorce or a Buddy-Pickles/Mary-Micah triangle. A Millie-and-Mary catfight would have been cool.

I think Lonesome Bride is the first time we see Micah taken with any woman. I know he liked Leota in Guilty Conscience but in Bride he was actually picking Mary Woodson up right in the road.

Micah met Julia and Millie before Lucas did.  Perhaps he was interested in them. I really think Micah had more of a love life than Lucas thought. Maybe there had been something between Micah and hattie.

Micah was really sexy in his own way. If I had been half his age I would have found him attractive. I wish he and Mary got together or Leota. He had been married once and wish they had him attracted to others. They didn't have enough Micah for me. In lots of episodes he wasn't even there.

Markisddg      this is in response to your comment about Paul Fix.

I am a huge fan of Paul also.  you probably knew his second wife was Beverly Pratt and she was 22 years younger than Paul.  she married Paul when she was
26 years old

she is also credited with being co-writer  of the episode  The Queue   and she was a part time actress.  also read she was Pauls secretary then she married him.  they were married 30 years.

she died 4 years before Paul and was only in her 50's

I am probably not explaining this very well, but while Lucas was innately chivalrous and never uncouth or crude. Raw masculinity oozes out of his pores.   Micah was definitely more suave.  I am going to have to watch the visitor again, but was he making a play for Ann dodd? I would have liked to see a julia-lucas-Micah triangle.

When Micah approached Mary,  he was confident and assured. He did not have the air of someone who strikes out a lot.

Markisddg      I am also in awe of Paul Fix.  He worked with the Hollywood greats.  Read he was John Waynes acting coach    wow    and he worked with Clark Gable.  You all know I am a big Gable fan

Fix  liked writing and acting in local plays, and soon became friends with the fellow actor Clark Gable, who was his own age. Fix and Gable were discovered by the stage actress Pauline Frederick, who hired them to be members of her touring troupe that traveled by train the length of the West Coast putting on plays. In all, Fix - who had informally renamed himself Paul Peter - appeared in 20 plays with Gable.

Paul Fix had one of his earliest acting roles on celluloid in the mid-1920s, appearing in a silent Western starring William S. Hart. The Western genre eventually would become the one he was most identified with. He played uncredited bit parts and small roles in silents before getting his first credited role in an early talkie (which was part-silent and part-talking), The First Kiss (1928), which starred future Hollywood superstar Gary Cooper and the dame that drove King Kong ape, Fay Wray. In all, Fix appeared in 300-400 films.

By the 1920s, he  moved to Hollywood, and performed in the first of almost 350 movie and television appearances. In the 1930s, he became friends with John Wayne. He was Wayne's acting coach and eventually appeared as a featured player in about 27 of Wayne's films

Random Rambler     My opinion was he would have liked a relationship with Anne,  He knew and respected her previously and she loved Margaret as well.  Love you saying  'masculinity oozes out of his pores"      yep that's Lucas     just oozing!!!!

Just saw this episode again.  I think Joan favors Angela Lansbury.  Does anyone else see this?

Loved it when Joan planted a kiss on Lucas as Millie had to watch.

Joan Shawley and Angela lansbury do look alike.  Also, both ladies are really tall.  Angela should have played pickles ' evil English cousin, who tries to seduce Alan brady.
