Mark has lots of ideas for the future  in Knight Errant, Season 4, episode 117---

Mark: Golly Pa, I'd sure like to do that.

Lucas:  Play chess?

Mark:  No, pick my own favorite time to live in like them.

Lucas:  Oh, when would you pick?

Mark:   100 years from now.

Lucas:  Why then?

Mark:  Well just think, no wood to cut.  They'd grow it the right size.  Chickens lay eggs and bring them right into the house. Then you just save your ice so you have it in the summertime. And cows give milk in mason jars and leave it right in the ice house.  Oh, and Pa, you don't wash the dishes, just eat them for dessert. And no school!  Instead you can learn everything in the whole world just by reading a little book with 16 pages in it.

Lucas:  Now wait a minute---just where do you learn to read?

Mark:  Oh well, there might be a year or two of school.

Gotta have their facial expressions with this!  Funny how Lucas and Mark could say som much with their facial expressions!

Then Lucas says, "Well, while your trying to find a way around that school, why don't you go find your way around that wood pile???

You're right Michelle---the facial expressions in this scene are so funny. In fact, I think that's why I have such a fondness for this episode.  It's very light hearted and no villains.  Jack Elam (Gates) plays a good guy---so to speak.  He and Scoobo are only guilty of trying to cheat at chess!  And Mark's bow to Don La Gar as they leave is priceless.

And this episode also has that wonderful line of Mark's that Cowgirl loves (me too).  Don La Gar uses his sword to knight Mark.  Since Mark doesn't know what is happening he says

"Your not gonna cut off my head?"  "Pa wouldn't like that!"

LOL...yes, I love that part too.  I also think, "Now that's an understatement!"
