North Fork never had a Mayor.

They are now ready to nomiate/elect a Mayor.

What character would you nominate for the Mayor of North Fork?
(Excluding Lucas McCain)

Ya' know when I posted this question I didn't even think who I would vote for.

But you guys are right!  John Hamilton would definetly get my Vote!

But what if John declines?  Then who would you pick next?

'Or' who would run against him?

Well, the way she came into town and bought most of it I think Lou would try and run. I don't know if they'd let women run for mayor back then.

Boy Dianna, I like your way of thinking!

I'll have to check to see if she would be interested!

Lou's always ready for a challenge!

Honestly, I don't think Lucas would run for Marshal of North Fork.

I remember from time to time Lucas really didn't want to cover for Micah because of his ranch.

Another reason I think Lucas would consider is what kind of home life would this be for Mark.  Even tho this does happen all the time!

What say you?  Would Lucas run for Marshal of North Fork?  What say you?

Nope, my opinion, I don't think he'd run either. He loved his ranch and Mark.

Which reminds me of that interview Chuck did. When he was sitting either in the golf cart or tractor out in his pasture looking at his real ranch house and said smiling, " look at it" you could see how proud and how much he loved his ranch, "Medicine Hat Oaks".

I do know what video you are talking about Dianna.  He sure was proud of "Medicine Hat Oaks".

Also "The McCain Ranch" must have held a very special place in his heart to build a replica of it on his own ranch that he loved. (This was Chuck's guest house & also where he kept some of his memorbilia there.)

Two ranches in one.

Thanks Dianna for the mention.  I forgot about this, it sure does put a smile on my face just thinking of him looking over his land.

Sakura Killers 1987 Movie
Not sure how many of you know that Sakura Killers was filmed on location at Medicine Hat Oaks!  (Chuck's ranch)

How proud he must of been!

These pictures were taken from the movie courtsey of Dianna!

What about when Mark grows up and comes home after attending college.  He settles down, gets married, and runs for Mayor of North Fork!

Mark McCain for Mayor!  How's that???

I'd vote for him

Sometimes we have corrupted canidates, like in 'The Day a Town Slept', although a different postion.

Who do you think could have slipped by and might have run for Mayor?

I would have to say.....

Couldn't you see him having Mark kidnapped to win the election?

Remember how nice Parker was to Mark & Lucas?  When first watching 'A Friend In Need' and I saw how nice he was, I couldn't help but wonder what he was up to.  Just tooooo nice!  A sheep in wolf's clothing!

Parley Baer played in Matter of Faith too and played an unsavory character once again, Walter Mathers. Micah says of him "I never trust a man who's too reasonable."

Are we going to go to the poll room with this and vote for mayor? That would be hard because I am torn between some of them.

Not sure how many of you have seen this thread or remember it.

I was telling Western Gal about this the other day and thought it would be neat to revive this thread and see what ya'll think.

Do you have anyone you would like to elect?

When we finish with this I will do a poll.

Hmmm...previous nominees include :

Micah Torrance (retired marshal)

Mark McCain (all grown up, of course)

Judge Hanavan

John Hamilton

Lou Mallory

Neff Parker (A Matter of Faith)

If we are going to include Lou, then some of the other women who contributed to the betterment of North Fork should also be included :

Milly Scott

Hattie Denton

Adele Adams

And probably some of the more successful local ranchers and businessmen :

Peter Crandall (Smokescreen)

Jake Shaw (The Illustrator)

Eddie Halstead

Sweeney

Jake Stryker (The Quiet Fear)

and Mr. no nonsense, "what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine, until I say otherwise" himself,

Oat Jackford

I just happened to think of something.....

hypothetical - If Lou is running & if Mark is grown-up, the follpwimg three would not be in North Fork anymore.

Milly Scott

Hattie Denton

Adele Adams

Let me know what ya' think and if you elect them do you want campaign posters?

Oat would be in my top three picks. Might need an assistant or co-mayor to reign him in, once in awhile though !

Couldn't they have returned to their favorite place for various reasons, not necessarily to pick up exactly where they left off ? They are all educated and two of them ran a business previously.

Off topic, maybe we could have a "Return To North Fork" trivia topic somewhere on the ranch, and see what some of our favorite, and least favorite, people would do/be, if they returned to North Fork in/after season 5.

Take Ann Dodd for example. What would happen if she returned and found Lou there, or Lou and Milly ?

Wouldn't Lucas love that ???????????

I thought back in those times, women were not allow to vote. If that's so then they surely wouldn't be allowed to run for office.

It didn't take long to come up with that slogan for Oat!

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

As far as Lou goes, I could see her arguing this point with her hands on her hips!

Lou's poster was created for fun, not really going by the time line.

This was where my part of the "gals" comment originated and then Judy mentioned the voting aspect.

We really don't know if Oat would still have been there at that time either, although he was never officially replaced or written out of the series.

As far as Lou goes, I can see her arguing with a tree stump !
