Wow................ thanks for the link to the new website...that actor Vito Scotti (Waste) could play a Mexican, a Japanese servant and in other shows he's played gypsies, Frenchmen and in one episode of Gilligan's Island he does a Japanese sailor that is on Youtube (very funny) acceptable in the 60's but today not politically correct.

Back when I was a news reporter, there was local police chief named Vito Scotti. He loved stumping people with trivia on the actor Vito Scotti.

He hadn't pulled the trick on me when I asked him how long it had been since he'd worked with Bob Denver (Gilligan). His face fell and he was so disappointed that someone made the connection without his "help".

Margie, do you think this new website is a precursor to the release of the CD's we're hoping for? Hope this doesn't take away from the surprise you've been promising at the reunion.

I can't go to the reunion but I'm sure you'll let everyone who can't go, in on any information when you get it, so thanks in advance!

My surprise for the reunion is not as big as this.  Mine is piddlin' next to this!

As far as the DVD's go.....      q33

LGL got in touch with me a long time ago & asked if I would help them with the character actors.  They sent me a lot of pictures for me to help them name the actors/actress for them.  Although I did have 3/4 of the pictures they sent, there was quite a few I had never seen.  So this certainly was a treat!

Believe me guys, it was a lot of fun!  You know how I am about the character actors

It was so hard not being able to tell anyone!  You don't know how much I wanted to tell ya'll this!

Did you guys look under the link of Resources?????  (at the bottom)

http://www.therifleman.net/resources/

I am so proud to have had a small part in this, but most of all I am proud to be a part of "The Rifleman" and to have helped promote this great show!!!!!  This was my main goal was to help get "The Rifleman" out there for others to enjoy!

"Together we can keep this great show alive!"

Be sure and sign up/join their mailing list/guestbook.....

http://www.therifleman.net/cntct/

You certainly don't want to miss out on anything!  And of course as always I will keep everyone up to date if/when any news comes out.

This website is pretty cool.  I hope they get bios for the rest of the cast on there soon, though...

Hey Cowgirl, they only have one external link noted.  You'll never guess who's it is...

WHAT an HONOR...

And to say that "I knew her when..."

Yes I do feel honored, but right now I'm on a cruisdae.  I think we have waited long enough for The Rifleman DVD's!  What say you?

Will LGL Productions ever release all 168 episodes of "The Rifleman?"

We, the fans of "The Rifleman" need to let them know just exactly how we feel about waiting this long for the release of this show!

Here it is another year & no DVD's and Christmas approaching to boot!  So I think it's time we let them know just how we feel!

I am asking all the fans that would like to see LGL Productions release all 168 episodes of "The Rifleman" on DVD to go to their contact/guestbook…..

http://www.therifleman.net/cntct/

Sign up for their mailing list & in the message section; tell them just how you feel about this!!!!!  Honestly, they do read them.  I do know this for a fact.

We have been quite too long!  Let’s just tell them how we feel!

Pass the word on & let's make this happen!

Hi Margie, That is quite an honor....

I finally got around to checking out the website with all those great stills from the show. I wish we still got RM on RTN in Boston used to be on at noon...we saw it the beginning of the year but then they stopped showing it.  Don't know why they dumped the best show of all time. I wrote to RTN and asked them to put it back on but still no Rifleman.

Markisddg,

I live in southeastern Mass and RTN runs TR on Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm. Sometimes checking with the local channel can help because the cable provider doesn't always keep its channel guide up to date. For instance, there is local news on at  10 pm M-F when the guide lists Emergency.

I'd rather see Emergency. Oh well.

I've got an idea.  (thats a warning for most people)

Do they have a mailing address?  I didn't look too hard, but will mosey over there again and see. How about getting up a petition and mail it in.  Just a thought.

I watch this on Netflix, but they don't have all the episodes available.  I've purchased two or three seasons, and will eventually purchase the rest of the seasons...

My favorite eps are when Johnny Gage gets hurt...Oh, he is so drop dead gorgeous!!!

Michelle, Johnny Gage still looks good now even to be in his sixties.  His partner, Kevin Tighe hasn't aged as gracefully.  But then, Johnny was always the cutest.  Does Lucas have competition now?

Hi Laurie, thanks for the info. Actually New Bedford runs Rifleman M-F at 12:30p and Sundays, Springfield runs it the same as well as Leave it to Beaver and Boston canceled Rifleman they only run Marcus Welby, Quincy, Incredible Hulk, Peter Gunn, Adam-12 ....puts on some paid programing and kid's shows. I'm in the Boston viewing area.

Glad to be of service, markisddg. After I wrote that, I noticed that the Rifleman is on during the week. That must be why I have nearly 40 episodes piled up in the DVR.

So many of us 40 somethings did have crushes on Johnny Gage. I noticed he hasn't done anywhere near the TV that Kevin Tighe has since Emergency.
I have KT and RM on my save picks for the DVR and KT shows up a couple of times a month whereas RM only shows up for Emergency, which sadly we don't get.

Kevin wasn't aging too gracefully when he was on Emergency...

Johnny Gage (SIGH)...between him, Lucas McCain, and Kid Curry I have a decision to make

This is good news Kira!  Thanks for sharing this with us.

We need to let LGL Productions know that there is a large following out there for "The Rifleman!"

Everyone!!!!!  Please express your interest to LGL Productions!  How are they going to know whether or not to put this great show out there if we don't let them know we still care?!?!?!?!?!?!

Speaking for only myself, I have tried and NEVER got any answer from LGL, I gave up and I get what episodes of The Rifleman from  Youtube.
The qoality is not great and I faced the fact I will never get all 168 shows.
If I had the Encore or Western channel I would have had all of those shows by now, but our cable company will not give it to us.
I am sorry, but I don't think anyone should get there hopes up on the release of this great western.

Likewise I get that same answer all the time.  At this point I think it's an automated response.

Amazon is offering individual sets from MPI.  If you go to Netflix they will show what shows are on each disc.  Right now the Amazon price is around $100.

These are a rare item, which is why some of them are so costly.  I think I had to pay around $80 got one set (there are six in all).  But I don't regret it - have definitely gotten my money's worth out of them!

By the way, these are the ONLY LEGAL copies of The Rifleman, so if you want them, buy them!!! (Though $100 is definitely a lot of money)

I have talked to one of LGL's contacts about this several weeks ago.  I told them how disappointed fans were when they took this off of Encore & that it did spark an interest!  My e-mail was overloaded everyday.

Quote:

I do have to say I agree with you Country Bill, unless we can show them there is enough of us fans out there that would buy this, I'm not sure it will ever happen.  But ya' just never know!  I do have 2 sets, but would definetly buy a newer version.

There are a few others that are legal beside MPI, but they haven't published as many episodes or Boxsets as MPI......Look for the product details.....Studio: MPI Home Video — Studio: Alpha Video & Studio: Treasure Box Collection

These are all very rare & very expensive!  The latter two I think are VHS.

I got my boxsets from MPI a long time ago.  Some I paid $50 & some $60.  The 48 episodes I originally go from Hallmark & later replaced them with Encore.

I wish I knew what to tell ya'll!

They're selling on dBay for up to $250. I only have MPI box set 1, for which I paid $35.99 back in '02. Amazon states: "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

Several months back EBay had several MPI Boxsets for sale which went for a large sum of money.  I did sent this to LGL Productions.  I thought they might find it interesting.

I don't have MeTV where I live, and so I'm limited to hulu's episodes.  Before that, a user on Youtube had all of the episodes, but he had to take them down.    That was the saddest day ever.

I sent my petition to LGL Productions!  Maybe they'll take notice if enough people write them.

LGL wants to hear feedback.  They want to know that enough people are interested.  They want to hear it from all the fans.

So be sure and tell them!  Even if you have told them before, let them know again!

I tried again and sent a second email to the rifleman.net. That's the answer:

Dear Kira,

Thank you for your message. We are pleased to know that you are a fan of The Rifleman show.  Levy-Gardner-Laven Productions (LGL Productions), which produced the original series and still owns the franchise, is aware that there is a dedicated fan base and producing an authorized DVD set of the original series is under review.  The primary consideration is covering the cost for the size of the market and being able to offer a DVD set at a reasonable pricepoint.  Your email has been forwarded to Levy-Gardner-Laven Productions, and an announcement to loyal fans will be sent when a decision is made or other newsworthy information is released. If LGL Productions hears from enough fans to achieve a certain critical mass, then producing DVDs will happen sooner rather than later.  In the meantime, we appreciate your patience. Your name has been added to our mailing list, so you can receive such notifications. (You can use therifleman.net web site contact form to opt out/in at any time.)

Ps. We have started working on releasing season 1 for early 2013

Thanks Kira for sharing this with us!

I have all of the episodes, but I really would like others to have access to these.  I really hope they get these out there for you guys!

I hope they aren't just going to release so many as in the past.  We need them all!

May 2013 will be our year for "The Rifleman!?"

How much do we love the Rifleman?

So much that I started crying when I found out we have a release date!

Not to discourage you DM, but I want to see a date, not a year.

I've seen this since the 50th anniversay, a year for several years!

Everyone!!!!!  Please express your interest to LGL Productions!  How are they going to know whether or not to put this great show out there if we don't let them know we still care?!?!?!?!?!?!

I POSTED THIS ON ANOTHER THREAD OF THE SAME TOPIC.  HERE IS THEIR REPLY TO MY EMAIL:

Well this would make the third email that I've sent to them.  I said that I heard on the forum that Rifleman dvds were tentatively scheduled for release in 2013.  I asked if there is a date (a real date) that we fans can look forward to.

Curious what the answer will be. . .

So they don't think the market will be high enough?  My lord!!!  I cannot tell you how many people comment on my Rifleman videos on You tube about loving this show and wanting it released on DVD.  I think they'll be surprised just how fast they will sell out!!!  I'm in line for the first season all ready!!!  And it's not just the "older generation" that is interested.  There are a lot of young people (like me ) and even younger than me...

I'm hoping that when they finally DO get released, they don't do half seasons...

I got an e-mail from Levy-Gardner January 11, 2013 and they said the complete first season (40 episodes) would be released very soon. They didn't give any dates but I'm hopeful it will be by the spring.

I ordered one of their new 2013 wall calendars ($8.95). They did not give any price for the first season DVD set. Let's hope Wal-Mart and other retailers will have it. I'll order from their website but would prefer local shopping.

They did warn everyone that there has never been an official DVD set for the entire season(s). There are tons of pirated DVD out there. In fact I e-mailed when I came across a pirated set for sale on the internet. These have been notorious for poor quality, missing episodes and so on. Plus, the sets come from overseas where getting a refund/replacement is out of the question. Plus, I want the REAL THING!

Go to www.therifleman.net for details. Let them know we appreciate them making these available soon partner!
