No new posts “Just Remember the Lessons!”
There is always a lesson to learn when you watch “The Rifleman.” There is no better teacher for Mark than his father, Lucas McCain. Lucas teaches Mark from “The Bible” and from experience. Sometimes the lessons are hard ones and at times rather easy ones. They are still lessons learned! Let’s discuss the lessons learned in each episode. “Every lesson you learn makes you a better partner.” “Just remember the lessons!”

Mark McCain was a fine contribution to The Rifleman and as important to the show as the rifleman himself. Let's give him the attention he deserves by talking about Johnny's character, his sweet nature and sensitivity. Always learning from Lucas sometimes the hard way, fear of losing his only parent, times he got into trouble, their respect for each other, and how he was portrayed as a motherless kid but had the insight and determination of a disciplined adult. Let's share our thoughts about Johnny Crawford the actor, musician, teen idol and downright fabulous guy.

The advice column for the forlorn rancher. Do you have a barnyard squabble or a cattle catastrophe to share with our readers? Let Lucas McCain give from his many years of wisdom and experiences with soldiering, parenting, ranching, and outlaw danger. Relying on his philosophy Lucas can spread new light over age old dilemmas and advise the most troubled toward an effective solution. Linger no longer in a world of fright, let the Rifleman show you the way to a more enlightened path.

No new posts Frank's Place - "The Battle Within A Young Gun"
In the television series, The Rifleman, we are given one of the West’s most memorable fictional characters. Not only did he see extensive service in the Civil War, scout for the Army, fight Indians, serve the law, and become a cattle rancher, he raised his only son as a single father. A number of episodes depicted Lucas as being haunted by characters from his past.

Why the title? Well, I'm a night owl and, as Deanne can attest, I do my best writing late at night. Living vicariously in the 1880's through Lucas McCain and his son, Mark, here are my stories about the Rifleman including "The Test" and "Shadow of Vengeance." There's more to come and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do writing them.
